The Merry Players
When it becomes clear that his home, the Merry Theatre, is under threat, ten year old Jackson Merry knows he is going to have to find the courage to step into the spotlight to save it. With the theatre in disrepair, the actors deserting them, the shady characters across the road up to who knows what and his parents not listening to a word he says, Jackson is determined to find out what’s going on.
Having grown up being captivated by plays night after night, he knows in the magical world of the theatre, the only limit is your imagination. But when he finds a mysterious box backstage, even he can’t imagine the secrets that it holds and how it’s about to change his life forever. As his world starts to fall apart, will he be able to step into the spotlight to save his home?

During lockdown I drew hugs to comfort myself and others. I asked people how hugs made them feel and this book is a gathering of my illustrations coupled with their replies. I loved how many different words people used to describe the feeling. And I especially loved how children often had the same simple response ... Happy.

An Amazing Alphabet of Cake started life as a game that I’ve played for many years with the little ones in my life, making their way from A to Z coming up with elaborate, exciting, crazy, cake creations. Originally inspired by my Dad, it's a wonderful way to while away car journeys and a lovely game to play when you're snuggled up ready to snooze, especially after enjoying a slice of Victoria sponge.
Even After Everything
My second poetry book Even After Everything is a continuing exploration of love and grief. What happens after the initial shock of losing someone you love? How does love find its place in grief? And how do you shape around what has happened in your life?
The book also explores aging, wanderlust and creativity. I hope that some of the words will resonate with you and I hope that they encourage you to write your own poems too.
